Level A330-200 Seat Selection Guide (2026)

Level A330-200 premium economy cabin with rows of recliner seats and Premium headrest covers

✈️ Quick Verdict

Aircraft: Airbus A330-200, flown from Barcelona in three layouts: 311 seats (42 premium economy, 269 economy), 275 seats (20 premium economy, 255 economy) or 295 seats (24 premium economy, 271 economy)

Layout: Premium economy 2-3-2 recliner, 1-2-1 flat bed or 2-2-2  ·  Economy 2-4-2 on all three

Version lottery: Yes, and it is the whole story — the same premium economy fare buys a recliner, a wider 2-2-2 seat, or a lie-flat bed with its own aisle

Best seats: Flat bed 2A, 2L, 3A, 3L, 4A, 4L  ·  Recliner 2A, 2L, 6A, 6L  ·  2-2-2 2A, 2L, 2D, 2H  ·  Economy: the window pairs listed per layout below

Entertainment: seatback screens on the 311 and 275-seat layouts; streamed to your own device on the 295  ·  Wi-Fi: paid satellite Wi-Fi

Routes: Barcelona to Boston, New York JFK, Los Angeles, Miami, Buenos Aires, Santiago and Lima

The catch: one name, three different seats

Level is IAG’s long-haul low-cost airline, flying A330-200s from Barcelona to the United States and South America. Its flights carry an Iberia (IB) flight number and show “operated by Level”. It sells two cabins, Premium Economy and Economy, and the economy cabin is the same 2-4-2 on every jet. Premium economy is not.

Most of the fleet carries 42 recliners in a 2-3-2, the standard premium economy seat you would expect. But two aircraft, EC-ODB and EC-OHY, came from Virgin Australia with their business-class cabin still fitted: 20 Collins Super Diamond lie-flat beds in a 1-2-1, every one with its own aisle. Level sells those seats as ordinary premium economy, at the same fare and under the same name. A third layout has 24 wider seats in a 2-2-2 at well over 50in of pitch.

Level does not publish which aircraft flies which route, and swaps happen. So there is no reliable way to book the flat bed in advance. What you can do is read the seat map when you choose your seat: the three cabins look completely different, and the section below shows how to tell them apart.

There is a smaller trap inside the flat-bed cabin too. 5A and 5L, the last window pods, are angled towards a blank stretch of wall, with the window behind your shoulder. Every other window pod faces glass.

How to tell which version you are on

On the seat map you seeYou havePremium economy
Premium rows 1–5, four seats per row (A, D, H, L); economy starts at row 9275-seat flat-bed jet (EC-ODB or EC-OHY)20 lie-flat beds, 1-2-1, all aisle access
Premium rows 1–6, seven seats per row (A C | D E H | J L); economy starts at row 7311-seat layout42 recliners, 2-3-2, about 37in pitch
Premium rows 1–4, six seats per row (A C | D H | J L); economy starts at row 7295-seat layout24 wider seats, 2-2-2, well over 50in pitch

The quickest tell is the letter E. If premium economy has an E seat, it is the 2-3-2 recliner cabin. If premium economy has no C seat at all, you have the flat bed. Check again a day or two before departure, because aircraft change. On the day, a flight tracker will show the registration: EC-ODB and EC-OHY are the flat-bed jets.

Premium economy: the flat bed (275 seats, rows 1–5)

Twenty Collins Super Diamond seats in a reverse herringbone, lettered A | D H | L. Each one lies fully flat and opens directly onto the aisle, so nobody climbs over anyone. The window pods (A and L) are angled towards the window, with your back to the aisle. The centre pods (D and H) are angled in towards each other, so they work for two people travelling together. A reviewer flying Miami to Barcelona in late 2025 found a universal power socket and a USB-A port at the seat, and seatback entertainment. The cabin has one lavatory, at the front.

Best flat-bed seats

  • 2A, 2L, 3A, 3L, 4A, 4L — window pods facing the glass, away from the front bulkhead and the bassinet positions.
  • 2D + 2H, 3D + 3H, 4D + 4H — the centre pairs, for couples.

Flat-bed seats to note

  • 5A, 5L — the seat is angled towards a blank stretch of wall, and the window sits behind your shoulder. Row 5 also sits closest to the door 2 galley and lavatories.
  • 1A, 1L — bassinet positions, so families with infants get priority and you may be moved. No floor storage at the bulkhead.
  • 1D, 1H — close to the bassinet positions, with no floor storage.

Premium economy: the recliner (311 seats, rows 1–6)

Forty-two recliners in a 2-3-2, lettered A C | D E H | J L, at about 37in of pitch. This is the cabin most Level flights carry. Window seats come in pairs, so a solo traveller at the window steps past a neighbour; the centre E seat has a neighbour on both sides. Entertainment is a Panasonic seatback system. One lavatory serves the cabin, at the front.

Best recliner seats

  • 2A, 2L — a well-placed window and no bulkhead in front, so you keep your floor storage.
  • 6A, 6L — equally good windows in the back row.
  • A + C or J + L in rows 2–6 — a two-seat pair for couples.

Recliner seats to note

  • Row 1 — the bulkhead. Extra legroom, but no floor storage for take-off and landing.
  • 6E — the middle of the centre three, with the door 2 galley right behind.
  • E seats in any row — the only true middle seats in premium economy.

Premium economy: the 2-2-2 (295 seats, rows 1–4)

Twenty-four seats in a 2-2-2, lettered A C | D H | J L, at well over 50in of pitch. They are wider than the recliners and every pair has an aisle seat, so the centre seats D and H each have their own aisle. It is not the 1-2-1 flat bed. Entertainment on this layout is streamed to your own device: no seatback screens are recorded, so bring a charged phone or tablet.

Best 2-2-2 seats

  • 2A, 2L — the best-placed premium windows, with no bulkhead in front.
  • 2D, 2H, 3D, 3H — centre seats with their own aisle, clear of the bulkhead and the lavatories.

2-2-2 seats to avoid

  • Row 4 (all six seats) — the last premium row backs straight onto the lavatories between the cabins.
  • Row 1 — the bulkhead, with no floor storage.

Economy (all three layouts)

Economy is a 2-4-2 on every Level A330, lettered A C | D E G H | J L. Eight across means every window seat is half of a pair, which is the best economy layout for couples on any long-haul jet. Towards the tail the centre block narrows to three seats (D E H). The row numbers differ by layout, so use the section that matches your seat map.

311 seats (economy rows 7–43)

Best economy seats

  • 31A, 31L, 35A, 35L, 38A, 38L — the best-aligned windows in the cabin.
  • 39H, 40H, 41H, 42H — the centre narrows to three seats here, and H has no seat beside it: extra elbow room and spare floor storage.
  • Row 7 (A, C, J, L) — the door 2 exit row, with extra legroom. 7A and 7L lose some foot room where the door curves in; 7C and 7J sit just behind the galley.
  • 9D, 9E, 9G, 9H — the centre bulkhead, about 73cm (29in) to the wall. Two are bassinet positions, so expect families nearby.

Economy seats to avoid

  • Rows 26 and 27 — directly in front of the mid-cabin lavatory bank. Row 27 has no J or L seats.
  • Row 28 — the door 3 exit row has the legroom, but faces the lavatories, with queues beside you.
  • 14A, 14L — the window is set behind the seat.

275 seats, the flat-bed jets (economy rows 9–42)

Best economy seats

  • 30A, 30L, 32A, 32L, 34A, 34L — the best-aligned windows in the cabin.
  • 36A, 36L — about 33in of pitch, roughly 3in more than the rows around them.
  • 28A, 28C, 28J, 28L — the door 3 exit row, with extra legroom. 28A and 28L lose about 40% of their width to the door, so take C or J.

Economy seats to avoid

  • Row 9 — the first economy row sits right behind the door 2 lavatories, and 9A and 9L have a plugged window section.
  • Rows 26 and 27 — in front of the mid-cabin lavatories.
  • 28D, 28E, 28G, 28H — the centre bulkhead, right behind the lavatories.
  • 12A, 12L, 41A, 41L — poorly placed windows.

295 seats (economy rows 7–43)

Best economy seats

  • 9A, 9L, 11A, 11L — well-aligned windows near the front.
  • 31A, 31L, 33A, 33L, 35A, 35L, 37A, 37L, 39A, 39L — the best-aligned windows behind door 3. 36A and 36L have about 33in of pitch.
  • 29A, 29C, 29J, 29L — open floor at door 3. The door curves into the legroom at 29A and 29L.
  • Row 7 — the door 2 exit row, with extra legroom; 7D and 7G are bassinet positions.

The windowless seats

  • 27A, 27L — no window at all, a blank wall, and a lavatory right behind. The only seats on any Level A330 with no window at all.

Economy seats to avoid

  • 25D, 25E, 25G, 25H and rows 26 to 28 — around the mid-cabin lavatories.
  • 40A, 40C, 40J, 40L and rows 41 to 43 — against the rear lavatories.
  • 17A, 17L — the window is set behind the seat.

Frequently asked questions

Does Level have lie-flat seats?

Yes, on two A330-200s: EC-ODB and EC-OHY, which came from Virgin Australia with its business-class seats still fitted. Level sells those 20 seats as premium economy. The rest of the fleet has 2-3-2 recliners or a wider 2-2-2 seat.

Can I book the Level flat bed on purpose?

Not reliably. Level sells it as ordinary premium economy and does not say which aircraft flies which flight. Look at the seat map when you pick your seat: four premium seats per row (A, D, H, L) means the flat bed. Aircraft can change close to departure.

Which Level premium economy seat is best?

On the flat-bed jets, a window pod in rows 2–4 (2A, 2L, 3A, 3L, 4A, 4L). On the 2-3-2 recliner, 2A or 2L. On the 2-2-2, 2A, 2L, 2D or 2H. Avoid 5A and 5L on the flat bed and all of row 4 on the 2-2-2.

Is Level economy 3-3-3?

No. Every Level A330-200 has economy in a 2-4-2, so every window seat is part of a pair.

Does Level have seatback screens?

On the 311-seat and 275-seat layouts, yes. On the 295-seat layout, entertainment is streamed to your own device.

Is there Wi-Fi on Level?

Yes, paid satellite Wi-Fi, sold by the hour or for the whole flight.
