Viva Aerobus Airbus A321neo Seat Selection Guide (2026)
Quick Verdict
Aircraft: Airbus A321neo — 240 seats, one cabin, 35 aircraft
Layout: 3-3, A B C | D E F, rows 1–41 — row 28 has no F, row 29 has no A, row 41 is B and C only
Version lottery: No — one cabin plan
Best seats: row 19 — the second overwing exit row, full recline, all six rated green
Seats to avoid: 29F — legroom and a blank wall · row 18 — exit row without the recline · 41B, 41C — last row, lavatories
Lavatories: three for 240 seats — one forward, two aft
IFE: none · Wi-Fi: being fitted across the fleet, not on every aircraft yet
The trap: three exit rows, one clean one
The A321neo gives Viva three sets of exits to seat beside, and each exit row on this aircraft behaves differently.
| Row | Where | Legroom | The catch | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 18 | Over the wing | Exit row | Cannot fully recline — row 19 behind needs a clear path | Yellow |
| 19 | Over the wing | Exit row | None | Green, all six |
| 29 | Door 4 | Bulkhead legroom | Five seats only; no underseat storage; 29F has no window | Yellow; 29F red |
Row 19 is the best row on the aircraft. Row 18 has identical legroom and stays upright for the flight, and row 17 in front of it takes the same recline restriction with ordinary legroom — the worst trade in the forward cabin.
Row 29: legroom at door 4, and a blank wall
Door 4 sits aft of the wing and takes the A position out of row 29, so the row runs 29B to 29F. All five seats face open floor with bulkhead legroom. None has underseat storage, and the tray table is in the armrest.
29F has no window. It is the one seat on the aircraft with a blank wall beside it, and it is rated red. 29B has no seat beside it at all — the A position is empty — so it gets extra elbow room and an aisle.
The row in front, 28, is also five seats — 28A to 28E, with no F — and it cannot fully recline because row 29 is behind it. 30A, behind the empty 29A position, has nothing in front of it and gets legroom too, without underseat storage.
The front of the cabin
Row 1 is the bulkhead. All six seats have legroom, none has underseat storage, and the tray table is in the armrest. The forward lavatory is directly ahead of 1A–1C and the galley ahead of 1C–1F. All six are rated yellow. 1C and 1D have a partial bulkhead with a little extra foot room to one side.
The best window seats in the front half are 3A, 3F, 6A, 6F, 14A and 14F, all rated green. 2A, 2F, 5A, 5F, 16A and 16F have the window set behind the seat.
The back of the cabin
Rows 30 to 41 are drawn fractionally tighter than rows 2 to 17 — about an inch. It is not a large difference, but on a 240-seat aircraft it adds up, and it is another reason to aim for the front half.
Row 41 is two seats, 41B and 41C, beside the rear lavatories. Neither reclines and both are rated red. Row 40 catches the lavatory queue across all six seats, and 39D–40F get the galley. If you have to sit in the back, the best window seats are 32F, 35F, 37A and 38F; avoid 34F, 37F, 39A and 40F, where the glass is behind the seat.
Three lavatories for 240 passengers is one for every eighty — on a full flight, the queues at the back are long.
What is on board
There are no seatback screens. Viva is fitting a multi-orbit satellite Wi-Fi system across its fleet; eleven aircraft had it by June 2026, so whether your A321neo is one of them is a matter of luck for now.
