Flair Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 Seat Selection Guide (2026)

Flair Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 cabin looking down the aisle, 3-3 grey seats with no seatback screens

Quick Verdict

Aircraft: Boeing 737 MAX 8 — 189 seats, one cabin, 18 aircraft

Layout: 3-3, A B C | D E F, rows 1–32 — row 1 is 1A, 1B and 1C only

Version lottery: No — one cabin plan

Best seats: row 16 — exit-row legroom and a full recline, all six rated green

Best value: 4D–6F — marked 32–33in and rated green, without an exit-row price

Seats to avoid: 1A, 1B, 1C — 20in to the wall  ·  12A, 12F — no window  ·  row 15 — legroom without the recline  ·  rows 31–32

Lavatories: three — one forward, two aft

IFE: none  ·  Wi-Fi: none recorded

The trap: the front row is two different seats

The 737 MAX 8’s forward galley and lavatory do not sit symmetrically, and on Flair’s aircraft that splits the front of the cabin. Row 1 is only three seats, 1A, 1B and 1C, on the left. The right side starts a row later at 2D, 2E and 2F. Both are bulkheads, and they could hardly be more different.

SeatsDistance to the wallVerdict
1A, 1B, 1C52cm (20in) — closer than a normal bulkheadThe tightest seats on the aircraft, with no underseat storage and a narrower seat
2D, 2E, 2FExtra legroom aheadA genuine bulkhead — legroom, but no underseat storage and the tray in the armrest

On a booking map both look like the front row. If you are offered 1A, 1B or 1C as a “bulkhead” seat, decline it: you get less room than an ordinary seat, nowhere to put a bag, and a tray table folded into the armrest. 2D, 2E and 2F are the front seats that actually deliver.

1C has a partial bulkhead with some extra room to its right, which helps a little. 1A has a near-complete wall and gains nothing.

Exit rows: book 16, not 15

The MAX 8 has two pairs of overwing exits and Flair puts a full row at each: rows 15 and 16. Both have the extra legroom.

Only one reclines. Row 15 cannot fully recline, because row 16 behind it has to keep a clear path to the exit. Row 16 has no such restriction, and all six of its seats are rated green — the best seats on the aircraft. Row 14 takes the same recline restriction as row 15 and gets no legroom for it.

15F also has a window set out of line with the seat. If you are booking row 15 anyway, 15A has the better view.

The hidden bonus: 4D to 6F

Nine seats on the right-hand side near the front — 4D, 4E, 4F, 5D, 5E, 5F, 6D, 6E and 6F — are marked at 32–33in, about three inches more than the cabin standard, and all nine are rated green. 4A across the aisle is green too, for its window.

These are not exit rows, so there are no age or assistance requirements, and they are near the front for a quick exit on arrival. For anyone who wants more room and does not want to pay exit-row prices, this block is the first place to look.

Windowless seats and misaligned windows

12A and 12F have no window — a blank stretch of wall where the window should be. Both are rated red.

Six more window seats have the glass set behind the seat: 2F, 3A, 4F, 11A, 22A and 22F. The best window seats outside the front block and the exit row are 23A, 23F, 25A, 25F, 27A and 27F, all rated green.

The back of the cabin

Rows 31 and 32 are red across all twelve seats, directly against the two rear lavatories. Row 32 does not recline and has the rear galley behind it. Row 30 catches the lavatory queue. If you are in the back, stop at row 29.

What is on board

Flair now describes itself as a value carrier rather than an ultra-low-cost one, but the cabin is the same: no seatback entertainment and no Wi-Fi recorded for the aircraft. Bring downloaded content and a charged device.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best seat on the Flair 737 MAX 8?

Any seat in row 16. It is the second overwing exit row, with the extra legroom and a full recline, and all six seats are rated green. Row 15 has the same legroom but cannot fully recline.

Is row 1 a good seat on Flair?

No. Row 1 is 1A, 1B and 1C only, and the wall sits 52cm (20in) ahead — tighter than an ordinary seat — with no underseat storage. 2D, 2E and 2F, the first seats on the right-hand side, are the front seats with real legroom.

Which Flair seats have no window?

12A and 12F. Both have a blank wall where the window would be.

Do any non-exit seats have extra legroom?

Yes. 4D to 6F, nine seats on the right-hand side, are marked at 32–33in, about three inches more than the rest of the cabin, and all are rated green.

How many 737 MAX 8s does Flair fly?

Eighteen, as of early 2026, alongside a small number of older 737-800s.
