Thai Airways A350-900 Seat Selection Guide (2026)

Thai Airways operates the Airbus A350-900 in four separate configurations, and they are not minor variations. Business class ranges from 30 to 33 seats and swaps between three completely different seat products. One of the four puts you in a 2-2-2 layout where two thirds of the cabin has to climb over a stranger to reach the aisle. Seat numbers that are excellent on one aircraft do not exist on another.

The Version Lottery

The gap that matters is the last column. On three of the four, almost everyone in Royal Silk steps straight into the aisle. On the Jamco Journey, only the ten centre seats do — the twenty window seats are paired, and if you are in A or K you are climbing over whoever is in B or J every time you want to move.

There is no row 13 in Royal Silk on any of the four.

Solstys 32J — rows 11–19, staggered 1-2-1

Seat letters alternate row by row, and this is where most seat advice about Thai's A350 goes wrong.

• Rows 12, 15, 17, 19: A – D – G – K
• Rows 11, 14, 16, 18: B – E – F – J

A is the true window seat, tucked against the fuselage with the console between you and the aisle. B sits out by the aisle, with the console on the window side. If you want privacy and a view, book an A or a K. If you want to hop in and out without leaning around a console, book B or J.

For couples, the pair that sits close together is E–F, not D–G. D and G are pushed apart against the two aisles with the consoles inboard, so a couple booked into D and G ends up further apart than a couple in economy. This is the single most common mistake on this aircraft.

Specs: 46in pitch, 20in wide, 6ft 6in flat bed, 16in HD screen, 110V AC plus USB-A. No privacy doors, no personal air vent.

Solstys 33J — rows 11–20, staggered 1-2-1

Same seat, same alternating letters, one extra row and two gaps at the ends.

• Row 11 has only B, E and F. There is no 11A, 11G, 11J or 11K.
• Row 20 has only E and F.
• Rows 12, 15, 17, 19 are A–D–G–K; rows 14, 16, 18 are B–E–F–J.

Specs: 21in wide, 76in flat bed, 16in HD screen, 110V AC plus USB-A.

Super Diamond 33J — rows 11–20, reverse herringbone 1-2-1

The best business cabin Thai puts on this aircraft, and the simplest to book. Letters are A | E – F | K in every row. There is no B, D, G or J anywhere in this cabin. Row 11 has only A, E and F; row 20 has only E and F.

Every seat angles away from the aisle and every seat has direct aisle access. The bed is 79in — the longest in the fleet — the screen is 17in, and the seat widens from 21in to 26in in bed mode.

• Avoid 11F. A lavatory sits directly ahead of it, and there is a bassinet position adjacent. It is the one genuinely poor seat in an otherwise excellent cabin.
• 20E and 20F sit against the mid galley.
• Everything from 12 through 19 is strong. 11A and 16A have the best window alignment.

Couples: E and F are a genuine pair with a lowerable divider. Solo travellers: A or K, any row 12–19.

Jamco Journey 30J — rows 11–16, 2-2-2

Thai's lightweight business seat, and the one to plan around. Letters are A – B | E – F | J – K, six across. Rows 11, 12, 14, 15 and 16 — no row 13.

The seat itself is not bad. It is the widest of the four at 23in, and it has the largest screen at 18in. What is bad is the arrangement: only the centre pair E and F touch an aisle on both sides. Ten seats out of thirty. Book A or K and you are trapped behind a neighbour; book B or J and you have an aisle but a stranger beside you.

Armrests are not adjustable, and the power socket position is awkward for larger plugs and power banks.

Economy, Cabin by Cabin

The layout on all four is 3-3-3, lettered A-B-C | D-E-F | H-J-K. There is no seat G. The middle seats are B, E and J — F is an aisle seat, not a middle, and plenty of seat guides get this backwards.

Solstys 32J — rows 31–63, 289 seats

Collins Pinnacle, 32in pitch, 18in wide, 10.6in screen.

• Row 31 is a trap. It has bulkhead legroom, but a lavatory sits immediately ahead of the entire row.
• 42A has no window — solid wall panel.
• Rows 47 and 48 back onto a lavatory bank. Row 48 has no D, E or F.
• Row 49 opens the rear cabin with the lavatories ahead of it. There is no 49A or 49K, and 49B and 49J have no window.
• 50K is the standout rear-cabin window seat.
• Rows 62 and 63 are the last rows, with the rear galley behind. Row 63 has no A, B or C.

Sweet spot: window and aisle seats in rows 32–41.

Solstys 33J and Super Diamond 33J — rows 31–65, 301 seats

Both use the Recaro CL3710 with an identical footprint: 31in base pitch, but 34in in rows 31–43 in ABC and HJK, and 32in in rows 32–49 in DEF. 18in wide, 120° recline, 11.7in screen.

• Row 31 has only H, J and K. Bulkhead legroom, bassinet positions, and the best-value forward row if you can get it.
• Row 32 is the pick of the forward cabin — full width, extra pitch. On the Super Diamond, 32C and 32D–32F rate best; 32A and 32K have poor window alignment despite the pitch.
• Windowless or badly aligned: 43A and 43K on the Super Diamond have no window at all. On the Solstys 33J it is 47A and 47K that lose out.
• Rows 48 and 49 sit against a lavatory bank. Avoid.
• Row 50 starts the rear cabin with lavatories directly ahead. There is no 50A or 50K, and 50B and 50J have no window.
• 51A and 51K are the best seats in the rear cabin on both aircraft — extra legroom and a proper window.
• Great window alignment further back: 53A/K, 57A/K, 61A/K.
• Rows 63 and 64 are against the rear lavatories. Row 65 has only D, E and F and backs onto the galley.

Jamco Journey 30J — rows 31–66, 309 seats

Zodiac Z300, 31in pitch, 18in wide, 9in screen — the smallest screen of the four.

• 31H, 31J and 31K have the most generous bulkhead on any Thai A350: 89cm, roughly 35in, to the wall. If you are tall and flying economy, this is the seat to chase.
• 42A has no window.
• Rows 47, 48 and 49 sit around a lavatory bank. Row 49 has no H, J or K. Row 50 has only D, E and F.
• Row 51 is the overwing exit row and the best economy row on the aircraft — but not 51A or 51K. On both of those, the exit door intrudes into roughly 60% of the seat width, 40cm ahead of you. Book 51B, 51C, 51D, 51E, 51F, 51H or 51J.
• Rows 64 and 65 back onto lavatories. Row 66 has only D, E and F.

Cabin Features Compared

Every Thai A350-900 has WiFi. All four carry satellite connectivity across the whole fleet, rated in the mid tier — reliable for messaging, email and browsing, workable for light streaming. Older guidance claiming this aircraft has no WiFi is out of date.

• Solo business traveller — Super Diamond: any A or K, rows 12–19. Solstys: 12A, 15A, 17A. Jamco: 12E or 14E, and nothing else.
• Couple in business — the centre pair is E–F on every variant. On the Solstys, do not book D and G thinking they are a pair; they are not.
• Tall traveller in economy — Jamco Journey 31H/31J/31K (89cm to the wall) or row 51 exit row seats B through J. On either 33J aircraft, rows 32–43 in ABC or HJK give you 34in.

How to Tell Which Version You Are On

1. Count the business rows on the seat map at booking. Rows 11–16 means the Jamco Journey 2-2-2. Rows 11–19 means the Solstys 32J. Rows 11–20 means one of the two 33-seat cabins.
2. Check the business seat letters. A, E, F and K only means Super Diamond. Letters alternating between A–D–G–K and B–E–F–J means a Solstys. Six letters across — A, B, E, F, J, K — means the Jamco.
3. Check the last economy row. Row 63 means the Solstys 32J. Row 65 means one of the 33J aircraft. Row 66 means the Jamco Journey.
4. Check total seats if your booking shows it. 321, 334 and 339 map to the 32J, either 33J, and the Jamco respectively.
5. Re-check at T-24. Thai swaps aircraft on this type regularly. A seat that was perfect at booking may not exist on the aircraft that turns up.
