On a 13-hour Taipei–North America sector, that is the difference between a tolerable Economy flight and a genuinely cramped one. The 353-seat jet gives back 5in of recline against 3in on the other two — the only dimension where it wins, and not enough to offset the width loss. Royal Laurel Business Class
Zodiac Cirrus reverse-herringbone seats in 1-2-1. Every seat is a true solo seat angled toward the window with direct aisle access — nobody climbs over anybody, in any row, on any version. There is no stagger: unlike Thompson Vantage or Safran Optima cabins, EVA's rows do not alternate forward and backward. What you see in row 3 is what you get in row 10.

Row numbering quirks — read this before you pick
- 333-seat and 353-seat versions: there is no row 4, and row 7 has no A seat. Rows run 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.
- 323-seat version: there is a row 4, there is no row 7, and row 6 has only the D and G centre seats. Rows run 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11.

Premium Economy
Zodiac 5810 recliners in 2-4-2 at 38in pitch and 19.5in wide, with 5in of recline, an 11in screen, a four-way adjustable headrest, bi-fold tray table and pedal-style footrest. This cabin is essentially identical across all three versions — the 323-seat jet just has one extra row.
Seat letters — correcting a common error
The window pairs are A/C on the left and H/K on the right. There is no B or J seat in this cabin. If you have seen it described as "A/B and J/K" elsewhere, that is wrong. The centre block is D-E-F-G, and E and F are the two true middle seats.

Most legroom: row 20 D/E/F/G — bulkhead centre block with full bulkhead legroom.

Exit-row legroom: row 60 B/C/H/J, plus row 67 B/C/H/J on the 323-seat. 73A/73K are well-aligned last-row windows on the 333 and 353-seat jets.
🚫 45A, 45K (all versions): no window (solid wall) and the exit door intrudes into the seat width — the worst of both worlds.

How to Tell Which Version You're On
Use the seat map at booking or check-in. Three checks, in order:
- Count the seats across in Economy. Ten across (3-4-3) → the 353-seat version, the tightest Economy at 31in pitch and 17.3in width. Nine across (3-3-3) → the 333-seat or 323-seat version; continue to step 2.
- Check where Premium Economy ends. Ends at row 26 (56 seats) → 333-seat. Runs to row 27 (64 seats) → 323-seat.
- Confirm with the last Economy row. Row 73 → 333 or 353-seat. Row 72 → 323-seat.
Bonus tell in Business: if there is a row 4, you are on the 323-seat version. The other two skip row 4 entirely.
