Azul Embraer 195-E2 Seat Selection Guide (2026)
Quick Verdict
Aircraft: Embraer 195-E2 — 136 seats, all economy · 44 aircraft, one layout
Layout: 2-2 throughout, A B | C D · rows 1–34 · no middle seat anywhere on the aircraft
Version lottery: No — one documented cabin across the fleet
Best seats: Row 15 — exit row with the most legroom, a full recline, and a proper window
Window warning: 30 of the 68 outboard seats have no usable window. Clean bands: rows 7–12, 15–21, 26–28, 32–34
Extra legroom sold: Espaço Azul, rows 1–5 — about 33in against a cabin standard near 29in
Seats to avoid: Row 13 — restricted recline, standard legroom · A and D seats in rows 1–4, 6, 13, 14, 24, 25, 30, 31 — no window
IFE: seatback screens, on demand · Wi-Fi: Viasat Ka-band, fitted across the fleet
The trap: nearly half the window seats are not window seats
The E195-E2 is a stretched aeroplane, and the window spacing along the fuselage does not line up with the seat pitch Azul has fitted. The result is the most extreme window mismatch on any aircraft we have mapped: 30 of the 68 outboard seats do not have a usable window.
They fail in two different ways, and the difference matters.
| Problem | Rows affected | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| No window beside the seat | 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 13, 14, 24, 25, 30, 31 | A blank stretch of wall. The nearest window is beside the row ahead or the row behind — 22 seats |
| Window set well back | 5, 22, 23, 29 | There is glass, but it sits behind your shoulder and there is no usable view from the seat — 8 seats |
The practical advice is to stop choosing by letter and choose by band. The clean window rows are 7 to 12, 15 to 21, 26 to 28 and 32 to 34. An A or D seat inside one of those four bands is a real window seat. An A or D seat outside them is a wall.
If the view is not the point, this is a cabin with a lot going for it: 2-2 all the way back means there is no middle seat anywhere on the aircraft, so every passenger has either a window position or an aisle, and every pair travelling together sits alone.
Espaço Azul sits in the windowless block
Azul sells Espaço Azul — Azul Space — as its extra-legroom product, and on the E195-E2 it is rows 1 to 5. The legroom is real: rows 2 to 5 measure about 33 inches against a cabin standard near 29, and row 1 is the bulkhead.
It is also, unfortunately, sitting on top of the first windowless band. Rows 1, 2, 3 and 4 have no window beside their A and D seats, and row 5’s window sits well behind the seat. If you buy Espaço Azul for the legroom, take a B or C seat — the aisle seats in those rows are unaffected, and you have nobody beside you either way.
The exit rows: 14 has the legroom, 15 has everything
There are two overwing exits, one ahead of row 14 and one ahead of row 15, and both rows carry extra legroom.
| Row | Legroom | Recline | Window | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 13 | Standard | Restricted | None at A and D | The worst row on the aircraft |
| 14 | Extra | Restricted | None at A and D | Legroom only — no recline and no view |
| 15 | Extra | Full | Clear | The best seat on the aircraft |
Row 14 cannot fully recline because row 15 behind it is an exit row and has to keep a clear path, and row 13 takes the same restriction one row further forward with no extra legroom to show for it. Row 15 has an ordinary row behind it, so it reclines — and it sits at the start of the second clean window band.
15A and 15D are the two seats to book on this aeroplane: exit-row legroom, a full recline, and a window that lines up.

Frequently asked questions
Which Azul E195-E2 seats have no window?
The A and D seats in rows 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 13, 14, 24, 25, 30 and 31 have no window beside them at all — 22 seats. The A and D seats in rows 5, 22, 23 and 29 have glass, but it sits well behind the seat and there is no usable view — eight more. That is 30 of the 68 outboard seats.
Which rows have proper windows?
Rows 7 to 12, 15 to 21, 26 to 28 and 32 to 34. Book an A or D seat inside one of those four bands and the window lines up with the seat.
What is the best seat on Azul’s E195-E2?
15A or 15D. Row 15 is an overwing exit row with extra legroom, it reclines fully because there is an ordinary row behind it, and it sits at the start of a clean window band.
Is there a middle seat on this aircraft?
No. The cabin is 2-2 from row 1 to row 34, so every seat is either an outboard seat or an aisle seat, and two people travelling together always sit as a pair with nobody beside them.
Is Espaço Azul worth it on the E195-E2?
The legroom is real — about 33 inches in rows 2 to 5 against a cabin standard near 29. But rows 1 to 4 sit in the first windowless band, so take a B or C seat in those rows rather than an A or D. You have nobody beside you either way.
Do both exit rows recline?
No. Row 15 reclines fully; row 14 cannot, because row 15 behind it has to keep the exit path clear. Row 13, one further forward, has the same restriction and no extra legroom.
How many E195-E2s does Azul fly?
Forty-four, all in the same 136-seat cabin. There is no version lottery on this type — every Azul E195-E2 is laid out identically.
