Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This policy explains what information SeatCompare.ai collects when you use our website and our connector for AI assistants, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights.

1. Who We Are

SeatCompare.ai ("we", "us" or "our") runs seatcompare.ai and the SeatCompare.ai connector for AI assistants. We decide how and why the personal information described here is used, which makes us its "controller". You can contact us at seatcompare.ai@gmail.com.

2. Information We Collect and Why

You can use SeatCompare.ai without an account. We collect:

  • Searches and comparisons. When you use Find My Seat, we record the flight you searched (airline, flight number, date, cabin and route), the aircraft we found, your browser type and the website that sent you to us. When you use Compare Seats, we record the seats and preferences you enter and the result. We use this to run the service, fix problems and decide which guides to write. It isn't linked to your name or email address. Your IP address is used briefly to stop abuse, such as too many searches in a minute, and isn't stored with your search.
  • Feedback and guide requests. If you rate a result, send feedback or ask us to cover an aircraft, we record what you send, the flight or aircraft it relates to, your browser type and the website that sent you to us. If you add your email address to a guide request, we use it only for that request, for example to tell you when the guide is published.
  • Messages and newsletter. If you contact us, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them to reply. If you sign up for our newsletter, we receive your email address and use it to send you SeatCompare.ai updates. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us.
  • Reviews and game scores you publish. If you post a seat review, we publish the name you give, your review, rating, seat numbers and traveller type once we have checked it. If you add a score to the Go Around leaderboard, the name you enter and your score are shown publicly. Use a nickname if you'd rather not be identified. To stop anyone voting twice on a review, your browser stores a random ID that isn't linked to you.
  • How the site is used. We count which pages and guides are viewed, and record some button presses with your device type, browser type and the website that sent you to us. Google Analytics and our advertising partners also collect information through cookies (see section 3). Our hosting providers keep standard logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running.

We rely on your consent for personalised advertising and for anything you choose to send, publish or subscribe to. For everything else, we rely on our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving SeatCompare.ai.

3. Cookies, Analytics and Advertising

Cookies are small files that websites store on your device. We, and companies we work with, use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and pixels) for:

  • Essential purposes, such as remembering your privacy choices and keeping the site working.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics shows us how visitors use the site, for example which guides are read most. It sets cookies such as _ga. You can opt out with Google's opt-out add-on.
  • Advertising. We show ads through Journey by Mediavine. Mediavine and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, measure them and, where you agree, personalise them. They may collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view and, in some cases, an email address in hashed form, and may combine it with information they already hold. Visitors in the UK, the EEA and other places where the law requires it are asked for consent in a privacy banner.
  • Partner links. Some links are affiliate links, for example to hotels on Trip.com through Travelpayouts. If you click one, the partner may use cookies to record that you came from us, and we may earn a commission.

You can change your choices at any time with the "Update Privacy Settings" option on our pages. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and find out more about interest-based advertising at Your Online Choices, the Network Advertising Initiative and the Digital Advertising Alliance. If you opt out, you'll still see ads, but they won't be personalised.

4. AI Assistant Connector

You can use SeatCompare.ai through AI assistants such as Claude, using our connector at https://seatcompare.ai/mcp. When your assistant uses SeatCompare.ai to answer a question, it sends us only the details needed to answer it:

  • for a flight: the flight number, date, cabin and, if given, the departure airport;
  • for a search: the words searched for (for example, "Emirates A380"); and
  • for a guide: the name of the guide requested.

We don't receive your name, email address, account details or your conversation with the assistant, and the connector doesn't ask you to sign in. We use these details only to answer the request. Flight searches are recorded in the same way as searches on our website. How the assistant itself handles your conversation is governed by its provider's privacy policy (for Claude, Anthropic's privacy policy).

5. Who We Share Information With

We don't sell your name or contact details. We share information with the service providers that run parts of SeatCompare.ai for us, and with the partners described in section 3:

  • Vercel, which hosts the website;
  • Supabase, which runs our database and back-end services (our data is stored in London);
  • Resend, which delivers contact-form and newsletter messages to us;
  • Google, for Google Analytics; for Google Fonts, which your browser loads from Google's servers; and for its Gemini AI service, which writes Compare Seats verdicts from the seats and preferences you enter;
  • Mediavine and its advertising partners, for ads; and
  • flight data providers, which receive the flight number and date you search, but no personal details.

Some of these providers are based in, or process information in, the United States. Where personal information leaves the UK, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

6. How Long We Keep Information

  • Messages: for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry.
  • Newsletter sign-ups: until you unsubscribe.
  • Guide-request email addresses: until we have dealt with the request.
  • Reviews and leaderboard names: until you ask us to remove them, or we take them down.
  • Search, comparison, feedback and usage records: for as long as they help us run and improve the service. They don't include names or contact details.
  • Hosting logs, analytics and advertising data: in line with our providers' retention settings.

7. Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to give you a copy of your personal information, correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To make a request, email seatcompare.ai@gmail.com. As we don't use accounts, we may ask for details, such as the email address you used, to find your information.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law, you can opt out of the use of your information for targeted advertising, which some of those laws treat as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, with the "Update Privacy Settings" option. You can also ask us to access or delete your information by email.

8. Children

SeatCompare.ai isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has given us their information, contact us and we'll delete it.

9. Data Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.

10. Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal, regulatory or operational reasons. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.

11. Contact

If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, please contact us at seatcompare.ai@gmail.com or through https://seatcompare.ai.
