Turkish Airlines operates two distinct A350-900 variants with different Business Class products.

Overview

Turkish Airlines operates two very different versions of the Airbus A350-900:

  • TK Original A350 – Stelia Aerospace Symphony
1-2-1 staggered Business Class (no doors)
  • Ex-Aeroflot A350 – Collins Aerospace Horizon suites
1-2-1 staggered suites with privacy doors and a small "hidden" Premium Economy cabin (sold as Economy)

After Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Western sanctions meant Airbus could no longer deliver several A350-900s that had been built for Aeroflot. Those undelivered aircraft were later reassigned to other airlines, and Turkish Airlines acquired a batch of them. That's why you'll now find ex-Aeroflot A350s flying in full TK colours but with their original interiors.

Both versions offer direct aisle access in Business and a 3-3-3 Economy cabin, but the seat design and best-seat strategy are different.

Row numbers and exact row labels can vary slightly between aircraft and over time. All ranges and seat picks below are approximate and based on current seat maps.

1. Quick Verdict

Both TK A350 cabins are strong, but we slightly prefer the TK Original A350 (Symphony) for its consistent layout and TK styling.

If you value maximum privacy and a suite with doors, the ex-Aeroflot Horizon cabin is an excellent choice when you can get it.

Best Business seats (TK Original): Solo: 2A/2K, 4A/4K, 6A/6K, 8A/8K (true window seats)

Best Business seats (Ex-Aeroflot): Solo: 2A/2K, 4A/4K, 6A/6K (true window suites with doors)

Best Economy value (Ex-Aeroflot only): Rows 8–10 – ex-Premium Economy seats in 2-4-2, 38" pitch, sold as Economy / extra-legroom.

Otherwise, in Economy on both versions: choose exit rows and forward window seats for quieter, more spacious rides.

6. Business Class – TK Original A350 (Rows 1–8)

TK's own A350s use Stelia Aerospace Symphony staggered 1-2-1 seats:

  • Direct aisle access from every seat
  • Large 18" HD IFE screen
  • Good privacy for a non-door product
  • Decent storage and a roughly 6'4" fully-flat bed

Ex-Aeroflot aircraft use Collins Aerospace Horizon suites:

  • Row 7 (last row) – Close to curtain and Economy traffic.

8. Economy Class – TK Original A350 (3-3-3)

On TK's own A350s, Economy is a two-cabin 3-3-3 layout (297 seats):

  • 31–32" pitch, 18" width
  • Six-way adjustable headrests
  • 11.6" IFE screens, USB-A and power at most seats
  • Quieter A350 cabin and larger windows than older types

Best Economy Seats – TK Original A350

Category Seats (approx.) Reason
Best Overall Space Exit rows (~high-20s/low-30s) Maximum legroom (check your exact seat map)
Best for Sleepers Forward window seats (~rows 20–28) Quieter mini-cabin, further from galleys
Best quick exit Front few rows (~rows 20–23) Faster deplaning on arrival

Seats to Avoid

Very last few rows – Closer to lavatories, more queuing and noise; some seats may have limited recline.

(Exact row numbers depend on the version and current TK seat map – always confirm against your booking.)

9. Economy Class – Ex-Aeroflot A350 (PE + 3-3-3)

On ex-Aeroflot A350s, Economy is split into:

Rows 8–10 – former Premium Economy cabin (sold as Economy / extra-legroom)

  • 2-4-2 layout
  • Approx. 38" pitch, deeper recline
  • Wider seat and more elbow room

Main Economy cabin

3-3-3, ~31" pitch, 18" width

Best Economy Seats – Ex-Aeroflot A350

Category Seats (approx.) Reason
Best Overall Value Rows 8–10 A/C, D/G, H/K Ex-Premium Economy seats with 38" pitch sold as Economy / extra-legroom
Best for Couples Row 8 & 10 window pairs (A/C or H/K) 2-seat sides in ex-PE cabin
Best for Sleepers (Y) Window seats in rows 8–10 or front of main Y cabin Extra pitch or quieter forward position
Best quick exit Front rows of main Economy cabin Faster deplaning

Seats to Avoid

Last few rows of the main Economy cabin – Same issues as TK Original: lavatories, queues, potential limited recline.

10. Aircraft Swaps & Booking Strategy

Turkish can and does swap A350 variants on some routes. If you care a lot about which cabin you get, use these strategies:

Choose mid-cabin seats

In Business, aim for rows 3–6 rather than the very front or very back. These zones are strong choices on both Symphony and Horizon layouts.

In Economy, target the front half of the main Economy cabin rather than the last few rows.

Avoid relying on edge-case seats

Don't build your whole plan around a specific first/last-row or unusual pair that might disappear if the aircraft changes.

Re-check your seat map before departure

Look in Manage Booking 24–48 hours before the flight. If the aircraft has changed, move yourself to a similar mid-cabin position in the new layout (e.g. window in row 4 instead of row 6).

This approach gives you the best chance of keeping a good seat even if TK swaps between its original and ex-Aeroflot A350s.

11. Known Quirks & Practical Tips

Issue / Quirk Details
Two very different Business products Symphony (no doors) vs Horizon suites (with doors) – both 1-2-1, but feel quite different in privacy and storage
Ex-Aeroflot sub-fleet Small number of aircraft; they rotate across long-haul routes, and swaps are possible
Hidden Premium Economy Rows 8–10 on ex-Aeroflot frames are ex-PE, 2-4-2, 38" pitch, sold as Economy – an excellent "value" zone
True window seats in Business On both versions, even-numbered A/K seats are the most private window choices
Bassinets Typically at the first Economy bulkhead row – great for families, not ideal for light sleepers
Row numbering Can change with refits; treat all row ranges here as approximate and cross-check with live seat maps

12. FAQs

Does Turkish Airlines have premium economy on the A350-900?

No official Premium Economy cabin. However, ex-Aeroflot A350-900 aircraft have 24 former Premium Economy seats installed in rows 8–10. These are configured in 2-4-2 with 38" pitch and are sold as Economy or extra-legroom Economy – not as a separate cabin class. This is one of the best-value seating options in the Turkish long-haul fleet.

Does Turkish Airlines offer different Business Class seats on the A350?

Yes. TK A350s use two different 1-2-1 products:

  • Stelia Aerospace Symphony seats on TK's own A350s (no doors)
  • Collins Aerospace Horizon suites with doors on ex-Aeroflot aircraft

Is one version better?

It depends what you value:

  • If you want a suite with doors and maximum privacy, aim for the ex-Aeroflot Horizon cabin.
  • If you prefer TK's own styling and a slightly more open feel, the Symphony cabin is also excellent.

How do I know which Turkish A350-900 I'm flying?

  • Count rows in Business (8 rows = TK Original; 7 rows = ex-Aeroflot).
  • Look for a short 2-4-2 cabin in rows 8–10 between Business and main Economy – if you see it, you're on an ex-Aeroflot frame.

What is the seat pitch and width on Turkish A350-900 Economy?

Standard Economy has 31–32" pitch and 18" seat width in a 3-3-3 configuration. On ex-Aeroflot aircraft, rows 8–10 offer 38" pitch in a 2-4-2 layout.

What are the best economy seats on Turkish Airlines A350-900?

  • On TK Original aircraft: exit rows for legroom, or forward window seats (rows 20–28) for a quieter ride.
  • On Ex-Aeroflot aircraft: Rows 8–10 are the sweet spot – former Premium Economy seats with 38" pitch sold as Economy.

Is Economy the same on both versions?

The main Economy cabin is similar (3-3-3, ~31" pitch, 18" width), but only ex-Aeroflot aircraft have the ex-Premium Economy rows 8–10 with 38" pitch sold as Economy / extra-legroom.
