The trap: a lavatory block in the middle of Economy
Most aircraft put the bad seats at the back. This one puts twelve of them in the middle.
Air China fits a lavatory pair partway down the A321 cabin, and the rows immediately in front of it take the full penalty: noise, odour and a standing queue beside your shoulder for the whole flight. On the 185-seat plan that is rows 25 and 26; on the 177-seat plan it is rows 23 and 24. The rearmost of those two rows is also limited in recline, because the lavatory wall sits directly behind it.
The row immediately behind the block has the opposite problem. It carries extra legroom, because the monument in front of it is a wall rather than a seat, and it loses its underseat storage and its tray table to the same arrangement.
On this aircraft the mid-cabin is the part to avoid, not the tail. If you are choosing freely, sit forward of the block or well behind it.
Four seats with nobody beside them
Both plans have two short rows where a monument takes the outboard positions, leaving only B, C, J and K. On the 185-seat plan those are rows 15 and 27; on the 177-seat plan, rows 13 and 25.
The B and K seats in those rows have no seat beside them. Each keeps the underseat storage next to it, gains real side space, and has direct aisle access without climbing over anyone. All four seats in each short row have the aisle access.
The forward pair is the one to want. The aft short row sits immediately behind the mid-cabin lavatory block, so it trades the empty seat for a lavatory door in front of you.
There is no seat 14F
Air China letters its narrowbody cabins A, B and C on the left and J, K and L on the right. There is no D, E or F seat, no H, and no I. A generic A320-family seat guide will name seats that do not exist on this aircraft, and a seat request for 14F will get you a blank look at the gate. The seat you want is 14L.

Twenty-two window seats with a compromised view
This is a long cabin at a tight pitch and the windows drift out of step with the seats down most of its length. On both plans, twenty-two window seats have glass set behind them, falling on roughly every other row from the middle of the cabin to the back.
On the 185-seat plan those are rows 16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36 and 38, A and L on each. On the 177-seat plan, rows 14, 16, 18, 19, 20, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34 and 36. The last row also has a genuine blank wall: 40A on Plan A and 38A on Plan B.

- 15B and 15K on Plan A, 13B and 13K on Plan B — the forward short row. No seat beside you, your own storage, direct aisle access, and well clear of the lavatory block.
